Former first-round pick Kyle Skipworth (Marlins) went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored as the Saguaros became the second team in as many days to score seven times in the opening inning. Rangers prospects Mike Olt and Ryan Strausborger combined for three hits, including a pair of doubles, and seven RBIs for Surprise. Twins right-hander Cole DeVries allowed two hits over four innings to extend his scoreless streak to eight and improve to 2-0 in the Arizona Fall League. Fellow Minnesota prospect Brian Dozier and Cubs farmhands Junior Lake and D.J. LeMahieu had two hits apiece and combined to drive in four runs. Reds prospect Cody Puckett tripled in the eighth and scored the Desert Dogs' lone run on a single by Ryan Ortiz (A's). After yielding 12 runs -- 10 earned -- over his first 9 2/3 innings, D-backs prospect Charles Brewer allowed one run on five hits over 4 1/3 frames to earn his first AFL win. He struck out six and walked one. Fellow Arizona Minor Leaguer Ryan Wheeler, combined with Tim Wheeler (Rockies) to knock in both of the Rafters' runs.
