Three Quakes Named to All-Star Team

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The 2011 California League All-Stars were announced earlier today by the Cal League office, with three Quakes making the 2011 squad.

Shortstop Jake Lemmerman, outfielder Angelo Songco and catcher Gorman Erickson not only made the club, but will start for the California League at each of their respective positions.

Erickson is currently enjoying a break-out year, leading the club with a .347 average, currently ninth in the entire league. The 23-year old San Diego native currently has four homers and 33 RBIs in 47 games.

Songco leads the club in RBIs with 43 in team-high 58 games. The Granada Hills product is second on the club with a .314 average and third with nine home runs.

A native of Newport Beach, Lemmerman has been steady for the Quakes up the middle this year, batting .289 with four round-trippers and 22 RBIs in 56 games.

This year's California League vs Carolina League All-Star Game will be held in Modesto, on Tuesday, June 21st. The Quakes (32-27) currently have a four-game lead in the South Division with only 11 to play in the first half. They open a series tonight at home, taking on Visalia in the opening game of a seven-game home stand.
