Timber Rattlers return to a busy Time Warner Cable Field

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have been on the road since May 20. They return to Time Warner Cable Field to begin a 12-game homestand on Tuesday, June 2. The span of games will feature baseball, cows, cars, giveaways, fireworks, and Star Wars ™.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are in first for a four game series from June 2 through June 5. On Thursday, June 4, the Timber Rattlers and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board present a Salute to Cows as part of the kick-off for Dairy Month. There will be contests and prizes with a dairy twist throughout the evening. The first of four fireworks displays during the homestand will be held after the game on June 5.

The Beloit Snappers visit from June 6 through June 9 and that series starts off with a Star Wars ™ Night. Timber Rattler players will be wearing jerseys based on the science fiction classic and fans may bid on the jerseys during the game as a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Foundation ™ of Wisconsin. Star Wars ™ characters will be on hand for photographs throughout the evening. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters and stick around for the post-game fireworks show.

Milwaukee Brewers great Ken Sanders is appearing at the ballpark on Sunday, June 7 as part of Brewers Sunday. Sanders will be available for pictures and autographs during the first three innings.

NASCAR drivers Jason Keller and Scott Wimmer will be on hand before the game against the Snappers on Tuesday, June 9. Keller's #27 Kleenex ® car sponsored by Kimberly-Clark will be on display.

A four game series with the Kane County Cougars from June 10 through 13 wraps up the homestand and Baseball Hall of Famer Phil Niekro will be at the game on Friday, June 12 courtesy of Miller High Life. Niekro, who won 318 games during a major league career that began with the Milwaukee Braves, will toss out a ceremonial first pitch knuckleball and sign autographs during the first three innings of the game. There will be no knuckleballs during the fireworks display after the game.

There are plenty of giveaways during the homestand. A Brett Lawrie photo baseball will be presented to the first 1,000 fans on June 7. Express Convenience will be giving away 1,000 Juan Sanchez player posters on June 10. On June 11, every fan attending the game will receive a Timber Rattler baseball card set from the Disabled American Veterans Association.

The Timber Rattlers will be giving fans a chance to learn about how to help others through the Step Up to the Plate and Donate with the Community Blood Center on June 5 and how to help themselves at Affinity Health Night on June 13 to hear from Affinity Health staff about stroke prevention.

And with school finally ending for the scholastic year, the Timber Rattlers invite all involved in the education industry to Educator Appreciation Night on June 11. All teachers, staff, and faculty of local schools will receive a discounted ticket rate. A cocktail hour will be held in the Leinie Lodge from 5:30 to 7:00pm for those attending the event. The Golden Apple Award recipients will be honored on the field in a pre-game presentation and prizes will be given out to participants throughout the game.

Tickets remain for the upcoming homestand, but there is limited availability for some of the games. There are special rates for groups of 20 or more.
