- The Arkansas Travelers have released the preliminary promotional schedule for the 2012 season. During the sixth season of Travs baseball at Dickey-Stephens Park there are 23 Friday or Saturday games, 22 promotional giveaways, 7 entertainment acts, 5 fireworks nights and 47 games that feature discount coupons for $3 admission. It all starts on Opening Day, Thursday, April 5 when the Travs host the Midland RockHounds at 7:10 p.m.
"I think we've put together a great list of promotions so far," said Travs general manager Pete Laven. "There isn't a day during the season where we don't have something planned and we'll continue to add promotions over the upcoming few weeks and into the season."
The Travs have planned a series of giveaways that celebrate some of the talent that has come through Dickey-Stephens Park in recent seasons. That starts with Mike Trout Pinstripe Jersey Replica Shirt Night on Saturday, April 21; Matt Shoemaker Goatee T-Shirts are the featured giveaway on Strike Out Stroke Night, Monday, May 14; Life size 7-foot-1 posters of former Travs reliever Loek Van Mil are the giveaway on Friday, May 18 followed by Mike Trout Bobblehead Dolls on Saturday, May 19; Another Mike Trout Replica Jersey Night is Friday, June 1 with Mark Trumbo Replica Jerseys on Saturday, June 2; Garrett Richards Replica Jersey T-Shirts are featured on Thursday, June 14.

The Original Clunker Car Night has been moved to a Friday night in order to maximize the biggest night of the baseball season when the Travs give away a used car every single inning on August 17. And of course, pre game Midget Wrestling returns to Dickey-Stephens Park on Saturday, August 18.
Before three Sunday games in 2012, Travs players and coaches will put on free kids clinics on the field at Dickey-Stephens Park courtesy of the Jim Elder Good Sport Fund. And the Travs' tradition of Anti-Tobacco School Kids Day continues with three special morning games planned for school children.
Additional events include the Hookslide Corner Postgame Concert Series presented by Corona/Dos Equis and features performers such as Honeytribe, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Band of Heathens and others.
The Travs continue to feature $3 discount admission coupons for all Sunday through Thursday games at various outlets around Central Arkansas. Sunday games feature discount admission coupons at Edwards Food Giant, while the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette sports section has a discount coupon for all Monday games. On Tuesdays fans can pick up a discount coupon at any Exxon gas station in Central Arkansas, while Wednesdays feature two discount ticket promotions, anywhere Reddy Ice is sold and AT&T stores.
