Dylan Bundy, MLB.com's No. 2 overall prospect, went 33 innings without allowing his first earned run in the Minors last season, his first as a pro. It didn't take quite as long for Bundy to allow an earned run to score in Spring Training, though he managed to stave off Major League batters in his first three exhibition appearances. The 20-year-old righty has compiled a 1.13 ERA over eight innings of work. The run the Rays scored off of Bundy was via a balk that sent home Wil Myers from third.

Ostensibly, there are as many as four young right-handers competing for the fifth spot in St. Louis' rotation. The three who are still considered prospects all pitched Thursday after Joe Kelly, who started the game and excelled in the Majors last season. The least experienced hurler of the quartet, 2012 first-round draftee Michael Wacha, was reportedly optioned to Minor League camp following the game. Oscar Taveras made a game-saving catch of a Tyler Pastornicky liner to right to secure the win for Wacha.
