Jordan Zimmerman drove in three runs and got the BayBears (43-77 overall, 16-36 second half) back within three in the eighth. His two-out, two-run single cut Biloxi's lead to 7-4. However, Nate Griep recorded the final four outs for his 20th save.
The Shuckers (76-47, 35-18) hit four home runs in the game and led by as many as six runs. Weston Wilson, Bruce Caldwell, and C.J. Hinojosa went deep against Andrew Wantz (0-5), who has allowed seven long balls in his last two starts. Dillon Thomas added a solo home run in the fifth.
Daniel Brown (3-0) earned the win, holding the BayBears to just one run on one hit in 3 2/3 innings of relief. Mobile has lost 14 consecutive road games since taking four of six from Tennessee at Smokies Stadium in mid-July.
