Modesto, CA – Trent Tingelstad blooped the game-winning RBI single to score Brett Rodriguez in the Modesto Nuts 5-4 win against the Fresno Grizzlies on Wednesday night at John Thurman Field.

Dariel Gomez followed with a single against Grizzlies (21-11) closer Juan Mejia (L, 0-2). Brett Rodriguez walked to put the tying and winning runs aboard. After Cesar Izturis Jr. struck out, Victor Labrada doubled home the tying run. Noelvi Marte was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Tingelstand flipped a fly ball down the left field line. Daniel Montano slid across the foul line to try and make the catch but he could not hang on allowing the ball to drop and giving the Nuts the 5-4 win.

The win snaps the Nuts’ three-game losing streak and the Grizzlies seven-game winning streak.

Travis Kuhn (W, 1-0) worked two perfect innings out of the Nuts’ bullpen while racking up three strikeouts.
