ZEBULON, N.C. - Monday's rainout on April 17 versus the Lynchburg Hillcats at Five County Stadium will now be made up as part of a doubleheader at City Stadium in Lynchburg on Wednesday, May 10 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Hillcats do not return to Five County Stadium during the first half of the 2017 season, therefore, Monday's postponed game will move to City Stadium in Lynchburg as Carolina League rules require that makeup dates occur within the half of the season they were first scheduled to take place.
The May 10 doubleheader will be played in what is now a four game series between the HIllcats and Mudcats at City Stadium in Lynchburg, beginning on Tuesday, May 9 and concluding on Thursday, May 11.
The Mudcats are currently at the midway point of a season long 13 game home stand. The long stretch of April home games continues tonight with Thirsty Thursday and game one of a four game series versus the Buies Creek Astros. Tonight's game begins at 7:00 p.m. and the Five County Stadium gates will open at 6:00 p.m.
Friday's game on April 21 also begins at 7:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. gates) and will feature a Game Show Night theme and post-game fireworks presented by Sears Home Services, the appliance repair experts. The weekend home stand will then continue on Saturday, April 22 with First Responders Night at 5:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. gates).
The four game set with the Astros concludes on Sunday, April 23 when the Mudcats partner with Dirty Dogs Spa once again for Bark in the Park at Five County Stadium. Sunday's Bark in the Park event allows fans to attend a Mudcats' game with a canine companion and is the first of two such games this season. Admission for fans with a dog to each Dirty Dogs Spa Bark in the Park game is $7.00. Canine tickets are an additional $5.00 for dogs of all sizes. Proceeds from the $5.00 canine tickets purchased on April 23 will directly benefit Paws for Life Animal Rescue.
The Mudcats are off again on Monday, April 24, but the long April home stand continues on Tuesday, April 25 when the Down East Wood Ducks travel to Five County Stadium for the first time this season. The three game series versus the Wood Ducks includes Weiner Wednesday on April 26 and Education Day with ABC 11 on Thursday, April 27.
