The Carolina Mudcats are featured in three seperate categories in this year's MiLBYs including Top Starting Pitcher, Top Play and Top Blooper.

The Carolina Mudcats are featured in three seperate categories in this year's MiLBYs including Top Starting Pitcher, Top Play and Top Blooper.

Starting pitcher Corbin Burnes is up for Top Starting Pitcher this year after going 5-0 over 10 starts with the Mudcats before a promotion to Double-A Biloxi back on May 29. He left the Carolina League as the league leader in earned run average (1.05), WHIP (0.88) and fewest baserunners/9ip ratio (8.25). Burnes was also second in the league in lowest average against (.181), third in innings pitched (60.0) and fourth in strikeouts (56) before the promotion. (VOTE)

Fans can also vote for Carolina League post-season All-Star Lucas Erceg as his hidden-ball trick from early in the 2017 season is up for Top Play. Erceg successfully executed the hidden-ball trick on 5/3 at Five County Stadium against the Buies Creek Astros and outfielder Kyle Tucker. Erceg The play was featured on MLB Network, SportsCenter, Around the Horn, Highly Questionable and several other television programs. (VOTE)

The Mudcats are also up for Top Blooper of 2017 as video of Trent Clark's foul ball splashing down into a fan's cup is up for consideration. Video of the foul ball landing in the cup quickly went viral and aired on television networks all-around the nation. (VOTE)
Voting is currently under way at milb.com and fans can choose the best teams, players, plays, promotions and more from across Minor League Baseball. 

Fans are able to vote as often as they would like. Voting will continue until Oct. 20. Winners for the 13 categories will be announced from Oct. 24 through Nov. 2.
