Portland, ME - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats shutout the Portland Sea Dogs for the second consecutive game Wednesday night, downing the Red Sox affiliate 2-0 at Hadlock Field. It's the first time since May 30-31, 2014 that the Fisher Cats have blanked an opponent in back-to-back contests.
After seven scoreless innings, New Hampshire broke through for two runs in the eighth. Derrick Loveless singled to start the frame and scored on a throwing error by starter Kevin McAvoy, who fielded a sacrifice bunt from Jonathan Davis but threw the ball away. Davis advanced to third on the miscue, setting up a Richard Ureña sacrifice fly that made it 2-0 Fisher Cats.

Jon Harris (W, 4-8) was superb for New Hampshire. The #8 Blue Jays prospect (MLB.com) blanked Portland over seven frames, limiting the Sea Dogs to three hits without walking a batter. He struck out four in the game.
Jose Fernandez tossed a perfect eighth and Andrew Case (S, 4) secured the victory with a scoreless ninth punctuated by Jonathan Davis' second highlight reel catch of the game for the final out.
The series concludes on Thursday night at Hadlock Field. RHP Conner Greene (4-6, 4.61 ERA) will go for the Fisher Cats while RHP Teddy Stankiewicz (3-3, 4.09 ERA) gets the start for the Sea Dogs. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. and can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio.
