Search underway for next SL president

The Advisory Committee of the Southern League Board of Directors has begun the process of reviewing candidates to succeed Don Mincher as league executive. Long-time league president Mincher stepped down last fall due to personal health concerns.

The Advisory Committee has been authorized by the Board to act as a "search" committee for the purpose of identifying and recommending highly qualified candidates for consideration. The Board has developed a job description and list of qualifications to guide the process. Among the essential qualifications are successful executive management experience, proven organizational leadership skills and industry experience.

The Southern League has received information from a number of interested individuals, and will be accepting submissions from qualified candidates until Wednesday, Feb. 29.
