Ogden Drops Game 3 of Championship

Runners-Up for Third Straight Season
September 14, 2012
OGDEN - For the third straight season, the Ogden Raptors lost in the Pioneer League Championship, losing to the Missoula Osprey 10-0 Friday night at Lindquist Field.

Missoula's pitching was great for the deciding Game 3. Starter Yoimer Camacho pitched five shutout innings, allowing just three hits and three walks and striking out four.

Relievers Chase Stevens, Vince Spilker and Justin Thompson combined for the last four innings. The bullpen gave up just two hits and struck out four.

Missoula jumped out to a five-run lead in the first inning. Pedro Ruiz walked on four pitches to start the game. Danny Pulfer then singled to right, moving Ruiz to third. Jake Lamb then reached on an error by shortstop Corey Seager, allowing Ruiz to score. Michael Perez then singled to right, loading the bases. Socrates Brito then delivered a two-run single to left, scoring Pulfer and Lamb. Breland Almadova finished the first-inning scoring with a double to left-center, plating Perez and Brito for a 5-0 Missoula lead.

The Osprey kept the scoring going in the middle innings. Lamb hit a two-run homer in the fourth, and Yosbel Gutierrez hit a two-run shot in the fifth.

The championship was the first for Missoula since 1996. Ogden remains without a Pioneer League Championship since winning four straight, ending in 1969.
