Guinness World Record Attempt

July 29, 2014

Join the Elizabethton Twins and UDC for a night full of excitement on August 16, 2014 as together we ATTEMPT TO BREAK A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD. Gates will open at 5pm as the Twins, who are currently leading the Appy League West, will take on the Johnson City Cardinals at 6pm. Proceeds for this event will benefit the Elizabethton/Carter County United Way.

We have a fever and the only prescription is MORE COWBELL! Saturday August 16th the first 1,010 fans through the gate will receive a free cowbell courtesy of Universal Development and Construction as we attempt to break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the Largest Cowbell Ensemble!  Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers as we make history here at Joe O'Brien Field as participants will be instructed just before the game to play their cowbells to a selected song over the PA system. "The Guinness Book of World Records lists the largest cowbell ensemble as 640 at an event in Switzerland," said Kelly Kitchens, Administrative Assistant with the Elizabethton Twins. "World Record Academy lists it as Ryerson University in Toronto with 1,003 people. We figured if we give out 1,010, then we'll be sure to beat them both. We are also asking that if anyone has a cowbell of their own, and everyone who's ever been to an Elizabethton Twins game knows our fans love their cowbells, that they bring it along and add to the number of participants.

On a serious note, proceeds from this event will benefit our local Elizabethton/Carter County United Way. Currently the Elizabethton/Carter County United Way have special $5 charity tickets on sale where 100% of these special tickets proceeds will benefit their cause and will also enter ticket holders to win special prizes to be given away the night of the event. You can reach the Elizabethton/Carter County United Way at 423-543-6975 for more information.

You can also purchase your tickets at the gate the night of the game. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for child/senior and $6 for reserved seating.
