BILOXI, Miss. (July 2, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, led 2-0 in the fifth inning but fell 4-3 to the Biloxi Shuckers Tuesday night at MGM Park.
Jo Adell hit his fourth home run with Mobile (32-49 overall, 5-8 second half) and sixth of the season in the top of the fifth. Three of Adell's four long balls have been to right-center field. Bo Way also went deep off Dylan File (3-0) in the sixth, his third dinger of the year.
However, the Shuckers (47-36, 6-7) answered back with a four-run fifth inning against Luis Madero (4-5) to jump in front for good. Two batters after Bruce Caldwell tied the game 2-2 with an RBI single, Jake Gatewood plated a pair of runs with a double.
Isaac Mattson tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen to finish the game. BayBears relievers have allowed just one earned run over the past 21 innings.
The BayBears wrap up the four-game road series against Biloxi Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley (3-5, 4.02 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Trey Supak (8-3, 2.41 ERA) for the Shuckers.
