Bridgewater, New Jersey- Three home runs, including two by Dermis Garcia, powered the Somerset Patriots (50-29) to a 6-2 win over the Bowie Baysox (46-32) on Wednesday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

Garcia’s two home runs (21, 22) on the night put him in front as both the Double-A Northeast League and New York Yankees minor league affiliate leader.

Recently promoted Josh Breaux collected his first RBI and home run (1) in Double-A with a 2-for-4 performance and two RBI.

Oswaldo Cabrera and Michael Beltre each drove in a run. Cabrera’s single in the fifth inning plated his team-high 49th RBI on the season.

Adley Rutschman got the scoring started early with an RBI double in the first for the Baysox.

Hayden Wesneski (W, 2-4) tallied seven strikeouts and allowed two runs- one earned- on four hits in five innings. Ron Marinaccio and Zach Greene combined for seven strikeouts in four scoreless innings of relief.

Kyle Brnovich (L, 0-1) suffered the loss with three earned runs on five hits in four innings of work.

The Patriots and Baysox continue the series on Thursday at TD Bank Ballpark at 705 pm.
