The Pigs doubled their advantage an inning later as Aaron Altherr and Danny Ortiz each drove in runs. Ortiz extended his hitting streak to seven games and hit .500 with a home run and 10 RBI on this road trip.

Irvin (11-4) tossed seven scoreless innings on his way to his 11th win of the season. Irvin allowed three hits and struck out two. He now moves within one win of Tyler Cloyd's franchise record 12 wins in a season.

Mark Leiter Jr recorded the final six outs. Leiter allowed one hit and struck out two in relief of Irvin. In the last 15 innings of the series, Lehigh Valley pitchers allowed six hits, no runs and struck out 14.
