DUNEDIN, Fla. (July 17, 2018) - The Florida Fire Frogs could not find any answers against the Dunedin Blue Jays on Tuesday afternoon, suffering their first shutout loss of the second half in a 4-0 defeat at Dunedin Stadium. The loss extends the Fire Frogs losing streak against the Toronto Blue Jays' affiliate to six games, after starting off the season 3-0 against their divisional foe.

Dunedin (19-7, 50-44) opened up the scoring in the second against Tucker Davidson  (6-7) with a run-scoring ground out by Riley Adams, bringing across Kevin Smith on the play. The home team pushed across three more runs in the third, with Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. pushing across two with a double down the third-base line and Smith adding an RBI single.
Davidson lasted five innings on Tuesday afternoon, allowing all four runs on 10 hits and three strikeouts. The left-hander needed 99 pitches on the day, with 64 going for strikes.
Florida (12-14, 41-51) struggled to get the bats going against Zach Logue (6-2), picking up only two hits through the left-hander's seven innings. Cristian Pache  (1x4) had an infield single against the starter-turned-reliever in the second inning to extend his hitting streak to nine games, and his on-base streak to 12. Marcus Mooney (1x3) picked up a single with one out in the eighth to snap a string of 15 consecutive batters set down by the 22-year-old.
Florida will attempt to avoid the series sweep in the finale of the three-game set from Dunedin Stadium on Wednesday night. LHP Jon Kennedy  (5-4, 2.06) takes the mound for the Fire Frogs against RHP Yennsy Diaz (3-2, 3.12). First pitch is schedule for 6:30 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:15 p.m. with the Florida Fire Frogs Pre-game Show on the Florida Fire Frogs Broadcasting Network.
