Corporate Sales Account Executive

This position is an entry-level opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a functional front office within the sports industry while focusing on the fast-paced world of sales. We are looking for motivated individuals who are looking to start their sports sales career who can network comfortably with community leaders and build long-term sponsorship relationships for the organization. This position requires a great deal of time, dedication and hard work during the season. In addition, this position will work all home games working with the Tides promotions team.

Responsibilities

  • Renew existing sponsorship clients
  • Develop potential leads
  • Cold call local businesses and organizations
  • Handle incoming sponsorship calls
  • Set appointments over the phone with decision makers, consistently meeting the weekly goals for sales appointments
  • Create and sell sponsorship packages to new prospects
  • Participate in various sales, team and community events
  • Represent organization at various networking events

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or requisite experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to provide superior customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to attend all home games and work non-standard hours - including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Sales experience is preferred - within the sports or entertainment industry is a plus
  • Basic understanding of Spanish is preferred

Assistant Ticket Director 

Job Description

Train, develop, and supervise Box Office personnel Sell ticket plans to customers via outbound phone calls, face-to-face appointments, gameday marketing, off-site networking events, and incoming inquiries Manage customer database and develop strategies to collect additional information Build individual and season ticketed events and retain ticket plan holders Maintain daily ticket office accounting records, balance, and deposits all ticket monies daily Coordinate ticket office procedures with other staff Provide an effective working relationship with other staff, event promoters, ticket plan holders and the general public Oversee internal controls and procedures including auditing procedures and reports, allocation and distribution of tickets Focus on the future of ticket operations with the goal to be on the forefront of the ticketing industry The position requires minor lifting and handling of heavy/large objects.

Experience Required

Experience and knowledge of TM Host, TM Archtics, TM Famuser, TM One and the EMT event management software Two or more years of experience in box office operations Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to learn other basic computer programs Must be flexible and responsive to a fast paced, high demand environment.

Box Office Intern

Job Description

  • Intern will be required to work from February through Labor Day, including all 70 scheduled home games
  • Provide superior customer service through daily box office ticket sales
  • Assist in the completion of processing, printing and mailing season and group tickets
  • Administrative duties including filing, sorting, stuffing and mailing
  • Maintain existing database of season ticket and advertising contacts
  • Assist in supervision, scheduling and training of gameday staff
  • Create and update daily ticket reports
  • Phone sales
  • Additional duties assigned as necessary

Experience Required

  • Microsoft Office product knowledge
  • Ticketmaster experience is helpful
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Prior customer service experience preferred

Merchandise Intern

Job Description

  • Provide high level of support for Director of Merchandising
  • Assist in the management of retail operations
  • Co-manage one store and program sales
  • Help manage and train gameday staff
  • Assist with the ordering of new merchandise
  • Process internet orders and maintain online store
  • Receive and inspect new merchandise
  • Assist in preparation of all points of sale as needed
  • Perform inventory audits
  • Warehouse/organize storage rooms
  • Help execute retail promotions

Experience Required

  • Currently enrolled in a college/university or obtained a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a sports environment and/or retail experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and stressful environment
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work up to 14 hours per day and up to 80 hours per week (in season)

Stadium Operations Intern

Job Description

The Tides are looking for energetic, ambitions individuals willing to learn and work hard. Interns will be given the opportunity to handle stadium operations during the season. Interns will be required to work all 70 Tides home games. 

Experience Required

Individuals must be available to work the entire season, have reliable transportation and be proficient in basid computer programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Internship requires certain physical requirements. Must be available February - September. Do not apply if you are not available to work full time during these months.

Groundscrew Intern

Job Description

The position is a season-long paid internship for the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Responsibilities include bullpen maintenance, general field maintenance, mowing, pulling tarp and batting practice setup. Intern is expected to work all 70 Tides home games as well as any other non-baseball events on the field. Previous groundskeeping experience (2+ years) or a turf management degree preferred.
