SPRINGDALE, AR – Despite jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Corpus Christi Hooks took the lead in the fourth and inched further ahead as the night went on and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals fell 6-2, their second straight loss this series and third consecutive overall.

Starting pitcher Drew Parrish pitched through five innings for the ninth straight start but was tagged for a season-high four runs on six hits and three walks, while only striking out three. Parrish retired the first nine Hooks he faced, then ran into trouble in the fourth as they plated two runs. The left-hander rebounded and retired five in a row but struggled again in the sixth as he could not finish the inning.

Holden Capps followed Parrish with 1.2 innings, then Christian Chamberlain made his Double-A debut, striking out three across 1.2 innings, allowing a run on three hits. Zack Phillips followed Chamberlain, using just one pitch to get the last out of the ninth inning.

Both Naturals runs can be connected to first baseman Robbie Glendinning, who went 2-for-4 in the losing effort. Glendinning singled home Brhet Bewley in the first inning, then doubled to open up the sixth inning and scored on a Ryan Grotjohn sacrifice fly.

Four of the Naturals’ seven hits were for two bases, as catcher Logan Porter doubled twice, in the fourth and sixth innings but was stranded in scoring position both times. Jake Means doubled in the ninth inning, his fourth double in his last four games.

The Naturals return to action Thursday at 4:05 p.m. CT, as left-hander Dante Biasi will start for Northwest Arkansas.
