SPRINGDALE, AR – The Northwest Arkansas Naturals could not keep up with the Springfield Cardinals Thursday night, dropping a third straight game this series, 11-2.

The Naturals’ lone runs of the game, came in the bottom of the third inning, on a two-run homer from Brhet Bewley, his second of the season, as the time bringing the Naturals within two, a 4-2 deficit.

Maikel Garcia doubled to lead off the bottom of the first inning, while Nick Loftin singled in the fifth, the only other hits for Northwest Arkansas in the loss. Springfield pitching retired the Naturals in order over the final 13 batters of the night, the last batter reaching base being Loftin’s fifth inning single.

After Bewley's homer, while the Naturals put a couple of runners on, the Cardinals scored seven runs unanswered, too many to come back from.

Alec Marsh worked around trouble multiple times, pitching into the sixth inning for the second time this season, as he allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits with six strikeouts.

Zack Phillips was charged with one unearned run in 1.1 innings, while Yefri Del Rosario surrendered five runs in the ninth inning,

The Naturals return to action Friday at 7:05 p.m. with Angel Zerpa on the mound at Arvest Ballpark against Springfield.
