Vázquez’s Five RBI Leads Naturals to Fourth Straight Win

SPRINGDALE, AR – Daniel Vázquez homered and drove in five runs to lead the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (22-30, 51-68) to a 12-4 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders (25-27, 64-56) on Tuesday night at Arvest Ballpark, winning their fourth straight contest. The Naturals continue their six-game set against the RoughRiders on Wednesday, with first pitch at 7:05 PM CT.

Northwest Arkansas got the scoring started in the opening frame with a pair of runs. Javier Vaz doubled home Luke Pelzer, who tripled to reach base, and Vázquez hit a ground ball to third to plate the second run in the inning.

After Frisco tied the game at two in the fourth, Connor Scott hit an RBI triple in the bottom of the frame – his first three-bagger of the season. Scott knocked in Colton Becker to make it 3-2, Nats.

The Naturals had back-to-back four-run innings in the fifth and sixth. Vázquez lined an RBI single to left in the fifth, and he capped off the sixth with a big swing. The shortstop connected on a three-run homer – his fourth long ball of the season – to give NWA an 11-2 advantage. Vázquez hit a sacrifice fly to right in the eighth inning, which made it a 12-4 ballgame, the final score.
