COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Omaha Storm Chasers came from behind to defeat the Columbus Clippers, 5-4, on Wednesday at Huntington Park thanks to a two-run, ninth-inning home run by outfielder Edward Olivares. It was the fourth come-from-behind win of the season for Omaha (5-3).

Trailing, 4-3, in the top of the ninth, outfielder Anderson Miller started the inning with a bunt single. Next, Olivares clobbered a 2-2 pitch from Columbus (5-2) left-hander Daniel Young (0-1) over the right-field fence to put the Storm Chasers in front. Left-hander Gabe Speier (Save, 1) polished off the win, retiring the side in order with a pair of strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth.

Right-hander Kyle Zimmer (1-0) pitched the eighth inning in a rehab appearance, allowing no runs on one hit—a single to his younger brother outfielder Bradley Zimmer—with two strikeouts and two walks. He threw 25 pitches, including 13 for strikes.

The Clippers scored the game's first run, taking a 1-0 lead in the first with two singles and a sacrifice fly against right-hander Scott Blewett. The Storm Chasers lept in front in the second, when designated hitter Emmanuel Rivera and catcher Meibrys Viloria hit back-to-back solo home runs against Clippers right-hander Jean Carlos Mejía. It was the first time the Storm Chasers have hit back-to-back home runs since July 16, 2019 vs. New Orleans, when Ryan O'Hearn, Kelvin Gutierrez, and Nick Dini hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the first inning.

Columbus reclaimed the lead with runs in the third and fourth inning. After first baseman Bobby Bradley homered to tie the game in the third, the Clippers scored one run in the fourth on a single and a throwing error by Blewett. Columbus tacked on a run in the seventh when Ernie Clement started the inning with a double, moved to third on a double play, and scored on an RBI single by Bradley.

The Storm Chasers clawed back in the eighth, plating a run against the Clippers bullpen to make it a 4-3 game on a bases-loaded walk by Viloria before second baseman Gabriel Cancel struck out looking with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Olivares finished the game 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, extending his hitting streak to eight games to open the season.

The Storm Chasers continue their series against the Clippers on Thursday, when right-hander Ronald Bolaños (0-0, 3.60) faces left-hander Logan Allen (0-1, 47.25). First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. CT and coverage begins with the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show at 10:45 a.m. CT on 1180 The Zone.

Following this week's six-game series in Columbus, the Omaha Storm Chasers visit Principal Park in Des Moines, IA, for a six-game series with the Iowa Cubs before returning to Werner Park on May 25 to begin a 12-game homestand against the Indianapolis Indians and Iowa Cubs from May 25-June 6.
