Baseball America released their latest transactions report courtesy of Major League Baseball, with a pair of 2018 Storm Chasers players signing deals with new teams. Baseball America released their latest transactions report courtesy of Major League Baseball, with a pair of 2018 Storm Chasers players signing deals with new teams. According to the report, longtime outfielder Paulo Orlando has signed a contract to play in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization in 2019, while 2017-18 southpaw Eric Stout has agreed to a deal with the San Diego Padres.

Over six seasons, Orlando appeared in a total of 432 regular season contests with Omaha in his professional career, compiling a .280 average (435-1556) along with 206 runs, 78 doubles, 16 triples, 29 homers and 213 RBI, as well as 61 steals in 78 attempts. He was also a member of both the 2013 and 2014 Triple-A National Championship squads. A fan-favorite whose first name was chanted often at Werner Park, Orlando delivered one of the most memorable moments at Werner Park on September 1, 2013 by hitting the first inside-the-park home run by an Omaha player in the midst of the 2013 division title chase the Storm Chasers would utimately win.

He made his Major League debut with the Kansas City Royals on April 9, 2015 against the Chicago White Sox and later that year became the first Brazilian-born player to appear in a World Series contest. In four seasons with Kansas City he tallied a .263 clip (230-874) with 98 runs, 44 doubles, ten triples, 14 homers and 81 RBI. He was acquired by the Royals from the White Sox in a deal on August 9, 2008. In 75 games with the Storm Chasers this past season, Orlando accumulated a .270 mark (78-289), adding 46 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, 12 homers and 41 RBI.
Stout between the 2017-18 campaigns totaled an 8-5 record and 3.76 ERA (52 ER/124.1 IP) with nine saves, adding 100 strikeouts in 83 appearances (three starts) with the Storm Chasers. He appeared in a team-high 45 contests in 2017, recording a 5-2 mark and 2.99 ERA (23 ER/69.1 IP) with five saves and 56 strikeouts.
The left-hander was promoted from Omaha to Kansas City in April 2018 and made his Major League debut on April 25 versus the Milwaukee Brewers. In three appearances with the Royals this past season, Stout accrued no record while fanning two batters over 2.1 frames in three appearances. He was selected by Kansas City in the 13th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Butler University.
