After optioning three pitchers to Omaha's roster on Sunday, the Kansas City Royals announced two additional moves on Monday afternoon. Right-handers Conner Greene and Josh Staumont were both optioned to the Storm Chasers' roster.

Greene was claimed by the Royals this past offseason from the St. Louis Cardinals on November 26, 2018. The 23-year-old made his Triple-A debut with the Memphis Redbirds last season, posting an 0-2 record and 3.66 ERA (16 ER/39.1 IP) along with 31 strikeouts. He began the year with Double-A Springfield and earned Texas League Mid-Season All-Star honors prior to his promotion to Memphis. Greene was acquired by the Cardinals via trade from Toronto along with RHP Dominic Leone in exchange for outfielder Randal Grichuk . The righty was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Santa Monica High School in California.
Staumont has worn a Storm Chasers uniform during parts of each of the past two seasons, combining for a 5-13 clip and 4.91 ERA (82 ER/150.1 IP) with 196 strikeouts in 57 appearances (20 starts). In 41 outings (five starts) with Omaha in 2018, Staumont accumulated a 2-5 mark and 3.51 ERA (29 ER/74.1 IP), adding a team-best 103 punchouts. The right-hander was selected by the Royals in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Azusa Pacific.
In addition to the roster moves announced on Sunday and the addition of free agent catcher Martín Maldondo, the Royals currently have 58 players in Major League Spring Training camp. That includes 22 non-roster invites and 36 on the Royals' Major League Reserve List.
Royals Spring Training camp ends at Werner Park with the Royals Exhibition Game presented by Cobalt Credit Union on Monday, March 25. Berm tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking here.
The Storm Chasers begin their 2019 Pacific Coast League campaign on the road in Memphis on Thursday, April 3. Opening Night at Werner Park versus the Oklahoma City Dodgers is set for Tuesday, April 9 at 6:35pm. Single-game tickets for all 70 Storm Chasers home dates are now on sale.
