The Kansas City Royals on Tuesday announced a series of transactions that impacts the Omaha Storm Chasers roster.

The Kansas City Royals on Tuesday announced a series of transactions that impacts the Omaha Storm Chasers roster.

Infielder Ryan O'Hearn 's contract has been selected by Kansas City. He would make his Major League debut when he first appears in a game with the Royals and become the sixth member of the 2018 Storm Chasers roster to debut with Kansas City this season. The 25-year-old would also be the 49th Storm Chasers player to make his Major League debut with the Royals since 2011.
In 100 games with the Storm Chasers this year, O'Hearn has compiled a .232 average (82-353), adding 47 runs, 21 doubles, one triple, 11 homers and 52 RBI, in addition to 45 walks and a .322 on-base percentage. In his two seasons with Omaha dating back to last season, O'Hearn has hit .243 (186-766) along with 95 runs, 47 doubles, two triples, 29 homers and 105 RBI. He was selected by the Royals in the eighth round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Sam Houston State University.
In addition, right-hander Jorge López has been activated to Omaha's roster. Lopez was acquired by Kansas City in a July 27 trade from the Milwaukee Brewers along with outfielder Brett Phillips in exchange for former Storm Chasers infielder Mike Moustakas . In 24 appearances with Colorado Springs this year, Lopez posted a 3-3 record and 5.65 ERA (18 ER/28.2 IP) with five saves and 23 strikeouts.
As a result of these transactions, the Storm Chasers' active roster stands at 25, in addition to five on the Disabled List.
Omaha returns to Werner Park to start a seven-game homestand on Wednesday, August 1. First pitch of their series opener versus the Las Vegas 51s is slated for 7:05pm CT.
