The Los Angeles Dodgers farm system is getting a fresh look in 2026 with the debut of the Ontario Tower Buzzers. Replacing the long-standing Rancho Cucamonga Quakes as the Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate, the Tower Buzzers will bring professional baseball to the city of Ontario, California, with a brand identity deeply rooted in the region's aviation history. Unveiled in September 2025, the team’s name and branding are a direct homage to the nearby Ontario International Airport and the adrenaline of flight. The name "Tower Buzzers" is a playful nod to the famous line from the 1986 film Top Gun ("Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower").
The arrival of the Tower Buzzers is part of a complex three-team swap in the California League that can be confusing for long-time fans. The actual franchise rights (and the Dodgers affiliation) that belonged to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have moved to Ontario to become the Tower Buzzers. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes identity is being adopted by the team formerly known as the Inland Empire 66ers. They will remain in Rancho Cucamonga as an Angels affiliate.
