Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes opened their three-game home stand on the right foot on Tuesday night, taking a 4-2 win over the Visalia Rawhide at LoanMart Field.

Cameron Decker had two hits and an RBI in his first home game this year, while the bullpen fired 4.2 innings of scoreless relief, helping Rancho to end a three-game losing streak.

Eduardo Quintero led off the game with a home run, his league-leading 13th of the year, as the Quakes opened the scoring at 1-0.

The Rawhide tied the game off Rancho starter Sterling Patick in the third, as Alexander Benua singled and later scored on a sac fly from Ruben Santana.

The Quakes took the lead for good in the bottom of the third, thanks to a crucial Visalia error. Victor Rodrigues opened the inning by reaching via an error, then scored on a Jaron Elkins RBI double. Elkins later scored on Decker’s second hit of the game, an RBI single to make it 3-1 off Visalia starter Josdanner Suarez (0-1).

Rancho added their final run in the fourth, as Rodrigues brought home Elijah Hainline with an RBI groundout, making it 4-1.

Benua homered off Patick in the fifth, making it 4-2. Patick would later be removed in the inning for Shawn Oduber, who battled out of trouble and eventually got credit for the win, thanks to 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Michael Vilchez and Jhonny Jimenez combined for three innings of scoreless work to finish it, with Jimenez (3) earning the save.

The Quakes (4-6, 45-31) will send Samuel Sanchez (1-0) to the mound on Wednesday, against Visalia’s Mervin Fell (1-1), with first pitch set for 6:30pm.
