2019 Eastern League All-Star Game Rosters Announced

RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels, in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, announced the rosters on Monday for the 2019 Eastern League All-Star Game, which will take place at The Diamond on Wednesday, July 10 at 7:05 p.m. The Flying Squirrels are hosting the event for the first time, and it is part of the four-day Eastern League All-Star Week presented by Genworth.

The Eastern Division and Western Division rosters each include 26 total players, with 11 pitchers and 15 position players on each team.
The Eastern League All-Star Game is slated to feature five of MLB.com's Top-100 overall prospects in baseball, including Erie RHP Casey Mize (No. 2), Erie RHP Matt Manning (No. 32), Hartford INF Colton Welker (No. 57), Erie INF Isaac Paredes (No. 63) and Reading RHP Adonis Medina (No. 77). The game also features two of the last four top overall picks in the MLB Draft, Mize (2018) and Reading OF Mickey Moniak (2016).
The rosters also feature 21 players who rank in the top 30 of their respective organizational prospect rankings on MLB.com.
Richmond leads the league with six All-Star selections, including RHP Melvin Adon, LHP Caleb Baragar, 3B Jonah Arenado, 1B Zach Houchins, 2B Jalen Miller and outfielder Jacob Heyward. Akron, Binghamton and Trenton each landed five players in the All-Star Game.
Willie Harris and the rest of the Flying Squirrels' coaching staff will lead the Western Division team. The Eastern Division squad will be led by Mike Mordecai and the staff of the defending Eastern League-champion New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
