Flying Squirrels sell out home opener for tenth straight season

FUNNVILLE - The Richmond Flying Squirrels announced on Thursday morning that tickets for Thursday's Opening Night game against the Hartford Yard Goats are officially sold out. The franchise has now announced a sellout for all ten home openers in team history, dating back to the inaugural 2010 season.

Tickets for the remaining six games on the homestand against the Hartford Yard Goats and Bowie Baysox are still available at SquirrelsBaseball.com/Tickets.
"Together, all of us, we did it again," Flying Squirrels VP & COO Todd "Parney" Parnell said. The Flying Squirrels have won four consecutive home openers entering Thursday night's match-up with Hartford, dating back to 2015. Overall, Richmond is 7-2 in its first game of the season at The Diamond.
This season's April 4 home-opening date is tied for the earliest start to the home slate of the team's Eastern League schedule in their ten years, matching the 2013 opener against the New Britain Rock Cats.
Thursday's game includes an appearance by former Richmond Brave and MLB All-Star Ryan Klesko and LIT! Dueling Fireworks presented by Chick-fil-A and Virginia Birth Father Registry. The ballpark gates open at 5 p.m.

The homestand continues on Friday night with the debut of the team's Copa de la Diversión initiative, when the Flying Squirrels transform to Las Ardillas Voladoras de Richmond.
