Faith and Family Night!

Join the Richmond Flying Squirrels as they host Faith and Family Night on June 4th vs. the Reading Phillies. First pitch is at 7:05 PM with gates opening a special two hours before.

VP and COO Todd "Parney" Parnell stated "we are excited to be able to offer this kind of outing for our fans, it's a way for us to really connect with everyone in the Richmond area."

Two bands will be featured on the AAA Ultimate Fan Zone Main Stage: National Recording Band, Luminate will greet fans as gates open at 5:00 PM with their ambient rock sound that is described as being passionate, stirring and worshipful. The band launched in the fall of 2005 with their self-titled EP, their second and third albums have been released in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The band has toured the Midwest performing at festivals, high schools, camps, all-age venues and churches.

The Ryan Corbin Band will follow Luminate's performance at 6:00 PM presented by 89.9/ 90.5 Virginia's Positive Hits. Independent Christian artist Ryan Corbin recorded his first full-length CD in 2005; he was selected to perform with Radio Disney and has dabbled in all different music genres before deciding to focus on praise and worship. He entered Embassy Music's Ultimate Talent Search in Nashville, Tennessee where he connected with numerous industry executives and is set to release his first EP this spring.

Two of the Flying Squirrels players, second baseman Charlie Culberson, who was selected in the first round of the first-year player draft pick in 2007 and rates as the #8 prospect in the San Francisco Giants farm system according to Baseball America, and utility player Skyler Stromsmoe, who signed with the Giants as a non-drafted free agent in 20-7 after attending Longview College & Sourthern Arkansas, will give their testimonials of life, love and finding their faith while following their dreams in between band changes beginning at 5:45 PM. Gates open at 5:00 PM on this special night with a game time of 7:05 PM.
