Richmond & Binghamton Postponed Tuesday

Doubleheader Scheduled For Wednesday, May 23

Binghamton, NY - Tuesday's contest between the Richmond The Flying Squirrels and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions at NYSEG stadium. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 23, with Game 1 beginning at 5:35 p.m. Both games

Binghamton, NY - Tuesday's contest between the Richmond The Flying Squirrels and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions at NYSEG stadium. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 23, with Game 1 beginning at 5:35 p.m. Both games will be seven inning affairs. 

RHP Cory Taylor (5-1, 4.54) is scheduled to start game one of the doubleheader for Richmond against Binghamton RHP Nabil Crismatt (5-1, 2.80). RHP Shaun Anderson (4-2, 2.86) is slated to start game two for the Flying Squirrels against RHP Marcos Molina (1-3, 5.97). Richmond is currently on a seven-game swing to Binghamton and Akron and will return home on Tuesday, May 29 for an extended Memorial Day Celebration.   • Tuesday marked the fourth postponed game for Richmond in the past seven days. Richmond was postponed on May 16 in Altoona as well as May 17 & 18 at home vs. Harrisburg.
  • Tuesday marked the fifth postponed game this season. The first coming on April 24 in Bowie.
  • Squirrels upcoming doubleheaders are as follows: May 23 (@ Binghamton), June 9 (vs. Harrisburg at The Diamond), August 25 (@ Altoona), and August 14 (@ Bowie).
  • The Flying Squirrels added two pitchers to the roster on Monday. Richmond native and Atlee High product Connor Overton was received from Triple-A Sacramento and Pat Ruotolo was called up from San Jose. Ryan Halstead was bumped up to Triple-A and Carlos Diaz placed on the DL (elbow strain).
