Series Preview: Summer Heats Up as Flying Squirrels Host Rumble Ponies

Series features a giveaway commemorating The Diamond, a fireworks show, Father’s Day FUNN and more.

The series kicks off with a Nutzy planter giveaway and a Wine & K-9s Night. Peter Moylan, former Atlanta and Richmond Braves pitcher, will join the Flying Squirrels at The Diamond on Thursday for a night honoring the early 2000s at The Diamond complete with a ‘Diamond’ ring giveaway. Then, celebrate the weekend with Pride Night, a fireworks show and a Father’s Day dad won’t forget.

Tuesday, June 10 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Gardening Night with Nutzy Planter Giveaway

Summer is here and it’s time to break out the gardening gear! Whether you have a green thumb or stick to growing cacti, this day is for you.

The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a Nutzy planter giveaway, perfect for your favorite flower, succulent or veggie!
It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans ages 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits, including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. Rock your sequins to the ballpark and let your sparkle shine! We’re talking hats, shoes, jackets, sunglasses, bows... whatever you can think of!

Listen to pregame jams from the Flying Squirrels’ own Batter Up Brass Band on the stage.
Dogs are admitted FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.
Enjoy $7 glasses of wine and wine slushies from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.

Thursday, June 12 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Diamond Through the Decades 2000s Night with Diamond Ring Giveaway

We’re throwing it back to the 2000s, when the Flying Squirrels first came to Richmond! Commemorate the legacy of The Diamond with a giveaway, specialty jersey and more.

Former Richmond and Atlanta Braves pitcher Peter Moylan will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch. He will also have a public meet and greet session on the stage from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
The first 2,000 fans of all ages will go home with a commemorative ‘Diamond’ ring, honoring all the championships won at The Diamond.
The Flying Squirrels will rock a special ‘Richmond Professional Baseball’ jersey, honoring the time before the franchise was called the Flying Squirrels! Fans can bid on game-worn jerseys here.

Friday, June 13 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Pride Night with Pride Fan Giveaway

The first 1,000 fans of all ages will go home with a Pride fan giveaway, courtesy of CarMax.

Saturday, June 14 vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies: Richmond Virginians Night with In-Your-Face Fireworks

The Flying Squirrels are celebrating the legacy of the Richmond Virginians, who played in Richmond from 1954-1964.

The team will wear Richmond Virginians uniforms on the field both on June 14 and July 2. Richmond Virginians merchandise is available in the Squirrels Nest Team Store, both in person and online here.
Stick around after the game for In-Your-Face Fireworks, up close and inside the fences.
Come early to check out the Virginians exhibit on the stage, complete with artifacts, information and more!

Bring your glove and play catch on the field with Dad from 12:45-1:05 p.m. Fans playing catch on the field can enter the field through the field gates located at sections 103/104 and 118/119.

Members of the Squirrel Tails Kids Club presented by Atlantic Union Bank get in FREE! The Squirrel Tails Kids Club is free to join for children ages 14 and under and includes a General Admission ticket voucher to select Sunday home games. Click here to register your child.
Kids ages 14 and younger can run the bases following the game presented by Richmond Family Magazine. Kids can line up to run the bases outside the Squirrels Nest Team Store at the end of the first-base side of the main concourse. Parents and guardians are allowed to accompany their children onto the field and meet them as they cross home plate.
