Squirrels offering FREE tickets to teachers, those who donate backpacks while bringing attention to food allergy awareness

FUNNVILLE - The Flying Squirrels return home Tuesday to open a six-game series against the Erie SeaWolves, an affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The week features a pair of fireworks shows, the final las Ardillas Voladoras game of the season and Field of Greens Night, which will feature special food options for fans with dietary restrictions.

Additionally, teachers, administrators and support staff from Chesterfield County and Richmond public schools can receive a free General Admission ticket to Wednesday's game as part of Back to Teaching Night presented by M&T Bank and Chick-fil-A. Simply present a valid school ID at the Flying Squirrels Ticket office prior to the game or at the ticket booth on game day to receive your free ticket.

Tribute to the Peanut & Peanut Bobblehead Voucher Giveawaypresented by the Virginia Peanut Growers Association: The Flying Squirrels celebrate Virginia's most famous nut with peanut prizes and a peanut butter food drive. Plus, the first 1,000 fans 15 and older will receive a voucher for a connectable-base bobblehead of the mixed nut racer Peanut. Vouchers can be redeemed for the Peanut bobblehead beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Flying Squirrels front office or at any of the home games that week. Any unclaimed bobbleheads will be distributed on Fan Appreciation Day, Sunday, Sept. 12.

Wine & K-9s: Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $6 wine slushies from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (Available at the wine cart located near fan services on the main concourse) Plus, dogs are admitted free in Funnville every Wednesday home game! Girl Scout Night & Ardillas Voladoras Luchador Mask Giveaway: The Flying Squirrels become las Ardillas Voladoras one final time as part of Minor League Baseball's Copa de la Diversion program, and the first 1,000 fans 14 and younger will receive an Ardillas Voladoras luchador mask. It's also Girl Scout Night in Funnville, and all participants will receive an official Ardillas Voladoras Scout Night badge.

Friday Happy Hour: Enjoy happy hour drink specials from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each Friday home game in Funnville. Specials include $2 12-ounce domestic beers at all concession stands, upper-level beer carts and The Thirsty Acorn as well as $2 fountain sodas at the Pepsi Fountain located on main concourse behind Section 110 near the Papa John’s stand.

Field of Greens Night & Ultimate Backpack Supply Drive: The night will feature special food items for fans with dietary restrictions while bringing attention to food allergy awareness. Vegan food items such as veggie burgers and hot dogs, Impossible Burgers and gluten-free buns will be available in the third base upper concourse concession stand.

Additionally, the Flying Squirrels will be collecting backpacks for the Ultimate Backpack Supply Drive. Fans who donate a backpack will receive a free General Admission ticket to Sunday's game.

Plus, kids 14 and younger can run the bases after the game courtesy of Richmond Family Magazine.
