Wedding bells ring when the ballpark becomes the aisle for Cierra and MyShan

The Richmond couple, who have been together since the summer of 2022, will be married on the field as part of the Flying Squirrels Wedding Night fan contest. The prize, according to them, was practically destined for their love story.
“Never in a million years did I think we were actually going to win,” Cierra said.
Friends who knew them best saw it coming from the start, encouraging her to apply and telling her she was “the perfect person for this thing.”

Their love for the Squirrels runs deep. In past seasons, the couple attended roughly 40 home games a year. Now they are first-year season ticket holders with Section 115, Row K, Seats 23 and 24 at CarMax Park as their home.
The couple had originally planned to marry in August of 2024 in the hospice room of Cierra’s father, Bobby Moody, so he could witness the moment. Bobby passed away at midnight that same day before the ceremony could take place.
“The universe had better plans for us,” Cierra reflected.
The couple has grown closer than ever since then. MyShan recalled the last words Bobby ever said to him: “Make sure you take care of her.”
“He was just always that kind of person,” MyShan said. “He would go with us every holiday and bring us small little gifts at work. Just showed how much he cared.”
It’s a promise he’s kept.
For Saturday, guests at CarMax Park can witness the couple’s ceremony before first pitch, games in between innings and many toasts to the newlyweds. Around 100 family members, friends and coworkers are expected to be in attendance, with many reaching out after seeing the story shared on social media.
Guests can view their Amazon registry by clicking here. There is also a donation page for monetary donations to Flying Squirrels Charities in honor of Bobby, found here.
Next, the couple plans to incorporate a diamond made from Bobby’s ashes into Cierra’s engagement ring. A permanent, beautiful way to always have him with her.
This Saturday at CarMax Park, two season ticket holders become husband and wife. Bobby Moody would be proud.
