BayBears Slip Past Jackson 6-5 for Third Straight Win
MOBILE, AL - The Mobile BayBears came back from two runs down to top the Jackson Generals 6-5 at Hank Aaron Stadium on Saturday night. The win was Mobile's third in-a-row and keeps the BayBears in a tie with the Mississippi Braves and Pensacola Blue Wahoos for first place in the Southern League South Division Standings.
The BayBears (13-9, 47-44) jumped out two an early lead, posting two runs in the bottom half of the first inning. Zach Borenstein drove in Socrates Brito with a single for his team-high 47th RBI of the season. Another run scored when Gabriel Guerrero plated Jack Reinheimer with a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-0 Mobile after one.
Jackson (7-15, 36-54) got to Mobile in the third inning when the Generals scored four runs on five hits. With two outs, D.J. Peterson knocked in a run with a RBI double and Julio Morban followed with a two-run, ground-rule double that plated the tying and go-ahead runs. The inning was capped off with a RBI base hit from Jabari Henry that pushed the Generals out in front 4-2.
Mobile would draw with in a run in the bottom of the fifth with Kevin Medrano scored on a sacrifice fly from Reinheimer but the BayBears comeback was completed an inning later in the bottom of the sixth.
Stewart Ijames brought in the tying run with a RBI ground-rule double but an infield single from Madrano allowed two runs to score as the BayBears pushed pulled ahead 6-4.
The Generals would score one more run with a solo homer from Marcus Littlewood in the top of the eighth frame but BayBears RHP Silvino Bracho earned his ninth save of the year when he entered in the eighth and recorded the final four outs of the game.
RHP Braden Shipley (6-8) picked up his second straight win. The BayBears righty allowed four runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out five in six full innings of work.

Mobile and Jackson conclude their five game series with game five at Hank Aaron Stadium set for 5:05 p.m. central time on Sunday evening. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m.
