Drury and Schugel Boost BayBears Past Barons
MOBILE, AL - Brandon Drury drove in five runs and A.J. Schugel allowed just one over eight innings as the BayBears topped the Birmingham Barons 10-2 Wednesdayafternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium. The eight run differential ties the BayBears largest margin of victory this season and the win moves Mobile back within 2.5 games of the Biloxi Shuckers for first place in the Southern League South Division Standings.
RHP A.J. Schugel (1-0) earned his first Double-A victory of the 2015 season after limiting the Barons to just one run on seven hits, walking one and striking out five in eight innings of work.
The BayBears backed Schugel with 10 runs of support, scattering 14 hits across the field. All nine players in Mobile's lineup recorded at least one hit while four players tallied at least two base knocks.
Mobile jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning after three runs crossed home on four straight hits. In the fourth inning the BayBears added four more runs highlighted by a two-run double from Drury. In the eighth inning the BayBears extended their lead, scoring three more runs on one swing from Drury when he hit a three-run double. Drury finished the day with a season-high 5 RBI.

The BayBears remain home for five more days during their current homestand but open up a new series against the Chattanooga Lookouts at 6:35 PM CT on Thursday night. Gates open at 6:00 PM.
