The Trash Pandas hit the road for the second time this season as they face the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Double-A, Marlins) for a six-game series.

Pensacola enters the series with a 4-5 record and in third place in the Southern League South Division.

This will be the Trash Pandas first series against the South division this season and one of two series they will play against the Blue Wahoos.

The upcoming series will be the only one played at Blue Wahoos Stadium as the two sides will meet at Toyota Field from July 9-14.

Pensacola Last Series: 1-5 @ Montgomery

After starting the season with a three-game sweep over Mississippi, the Blue Wahoos struggled last week in their first road series.

The lone win for Pensacola came in the series finale on Sunday in a 4-2 victory.

Blue Wahoos Hitting:

Pensacola sits fourth in the Southern League with a .226 average.

Additionally, the Blue Wahoos sit tied for second in home runs alongside Tennessee.

Diego Infante leads the team with a .296 batting average as he joins the Blue Wahoos after spending two seasons with Montgomery.

Paul McIntosh is tied with Infante for the team lead in hits with eight.

Blue Wahoos Pitching:

The Blue Wahoos have struggled on the pitching side to open the season, currently in seventh with a 5.38 team ERA.

Paul Campbell has been a bright spot with victories in each of his first two starts to go along with a 1.74 ERA.

Campbell also leads the staff in innings pitched and is tied for a team-best nine strikeouts alongside Austin Roberts.

Blue Wahoos Prospect Watch:

Pensacola’s roster features two prospects on the Miami Marlins Top 30 list, both of which being hitters.

Infielder Jacob Berry is the Marlins No. 5 prospect and has played in eight of the nine Blue Wahoos games this season.

Berry, who is in his second season with Pensacola, hit his first home run of the season on opening night vs. Mississippi.

Outfielder Shane Sasaki is the other prospect, listed at No. 23 in the Marlins system.

Sasaki is hitting .241 in eight games with the Blue Wahoos thus far.
