SALEM, VA – The Salem Red Sox split their second series with the Fredericksburg Nationals at three games apiece. The Red Sox (19-17) provide a shutout effort to blank the Fredericksburg Nationals (11-25) 5-0.

The Red Sox didn’t waste any time getting on the board in the bottom of the first. After Nick Yorke singled and advanced to third on an error, Jaxx Groshans smacked a sacrifice fly out to deep left field to make it a 1-0 game.

In the bottom of the third the Sox would add two more after Nick Yorke drove his second hit of the game to right center field scoring Dean Miller. Jaxx Groshans then drove in the aforementioned Yorke to make it a 3-0 ballgame.

The Red Sox were led on the mound by Aldo Ramirez (1-1) who went five strong innings giving up three hits and no runs. He struck out seven and walked only one while getting the win. Brandon Walker and Cody Scroggins provided four innings of shutout relief work while only giving up one hit each.

The Sox would add a pair of runs from a Stephen Scott RBI and a wild pitch from Davis Moore that scored the fifth run of the game.
