SALEM, VA – A five run second inning secured a victory for the Red Sox Wednesday night. The Red Sox (36-26) win their second straight game as they strive toward a series sweep over the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (26-35).

Nathan Perry drove in the first two runs of the game on a no-doubter home run hooking around the right field foul pole to make it 2-0.

The next inning the Red Sox struck back with five runs of their own. Alan Marrero tied the game at two after a soft line drive to right field scoring Nick Decker and Ceddanne Rafaela. Three RBI singles from Jimenez, Lugo, and Davis led to a 5-2 advantage for Salem.

Nathan Perry cut into the lead on a sacrifice fly in the top of the third, but the Red Sox would end up getting that run right back after Gilberto Jimenez walk with the bases loaded.

A solo shot from Nathan Perry cut the Red Sox lead to two, but Nick Northcut provided an RBI double to put the game out of reach to make the final score 7-4.
