The visiting Las Vegas 51s avoided the sweep by taking down the Salt Lake Bees 6-4 in the series finale at Smith's Ballpark.

The Bees took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth on a Michael Hermosillo home run to dead center and then tied it in the fifth as Ben Revere launched a home run to right field. For Revere it was a third home run of the season, setting a new career-high for the 12-year veteran. Las Vegas then scored a single run in the sixth and seventh and a pair in the eighth to put them in front for good. Salt Lake managed a small rally in the bottom of the eighth scoring a pair of runs, but couldn't complete the comeback.
The Salt Lake offense was led by Revere who finished 3-for-4 with the home run. Luis Rengifo hit safely for the eighth straight game and stole his second base with the Bees and later scored on an error. Jose Suarez got the start for the Bees giving up two runs over four and one-third innings in a no decision. Chris Flexen (6-6) took the win for the 51s. For the Bees it was the fifth time this season the team lost the final game of the series when a win would clinch a sweep.
The Bees now travel to Tacoma for a three-game weekend series with the Rainiers before returning to Smith's Ballpark on Tuesday, July 24 for Pioneer Day at the ballpark. Tickets are available at www.slbees.com.
