SALT LAKE CITY (July 6, 2018) -A six-run seventh inning by the visiting team proved costly for the Salt Lake Bees in a 7-3 loss to the El Paso Chihuahuas Friday night at Smith's Ballpark.

SALT LAKE CITY (July 6, 2018) -A six-run seventh inning by the visiting team proved costly for the Salt Lake Bees in a 7-3 loss to the El Paso Chihuahuas Friday night at Smith's Ballpark.

Holding a 3-1 lead in the top of the seventh, Salt Lake suffered a disastrous error, allowing two runs to score and extinguish the Bees' advantage. A few batters later, the damage was compounded with a grand slam by Allen Craig to make it 7-3 for the Chihuahuas. The Bees would not respond en route to their third-straight loss to El Paso.
Salt Lake's strong start to the game was due in large part to the performance of starting pitcher Griffin Canning. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run while striking out four in a no-decision. At the plate, Eric Young Jr. and Ben Revere each turned in a multi-hit game with two hits apiece.

Salt Lake and El Paso will meet again Saturday night at 6:35 at Smith's Ballpark. A spectacular fireworks extravaganza is scheduled to follow the game. Tickets are available at slbees.com.
