Oklahoma City broke through in the third inning against Salt Lake starting pitcher Sean Isaac with three runs on three doubles and a single. Salt Lake avoided their first shutout since June 17, 2017 with a run in the seventh inning. Sherman Johnson led off with a single and was balked to second. With two out, Julian Leon delivered a run scoring single for his first career hit and RBI at the Triple-A level.
Isaac (1-1) was charged with the loss, as he went three and one-third innings and allowed four runs on five hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Johnson led the Bees' seven hit attack with two hits, including a double. In the second game of his Major League Injury Rehab Assignment, Angels' outfielder Kole Calhoun went 1 for 4 with a leadoff single in the first inning.
