A Letter From Team President Greg Coleman

Dear SeaWolves fans,

Thank you for your continued support. The 2013 season was filled with fun, excitement and memories. It's hard to believe that we'll have to wait until April for the next pitch to be thrown.

The SeaWolves finished with 76-66 record in the regular season, and we were excited to host playoff baseball for the first time since 2007. It was thrilling to clinch a playoff spot at Jerry Uht Park on August 30, and the exhilaration only grew when we won Game 2 of the Western Division Series in a close play at home plate in the 12th inning. While the season was a week shorter than we would've liked, it was a season filled with gutsy plays, unsung heroes, and comeback wins.

This year's SeaWolves squad had both heart and talent. Hernan Perez, Will Startup, Warwick Saupold, and James McCann were named to the 2013 Eastern League All-Star Game. Perez never played in that game because he was summoned to Detroit to play for the Tigers instead. He would later be named to the 2013 Eastern League Postseason All-Star team. 

There were several other notable accomplishments on the field. McCann and manager Chris Cron represented the SeaWolves at the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. The SeaWolves set a franchise record for doubles in a season (270), and Jamie Johnson set the SeaWolves single-season mark for walks (101). 

Perez wasn't the only former SeaWolves player to make the leap to the majors this season. Bruce Rondon became a key part of the Tigers bullpen, pitcher Brian Flynn made his debut with the Miami Marlins, and Nick Castellanos joined Detroit after an All-Star season with Toledo. All three were members of the 2012 SeaWolves.

Off the field, we successfully introduced new logos, uniforms, and team colors. We partnered with the SeaWolves Booster Club to enhance the ballpark entrance with colorful new banners. We expanded our community outreach as we bowled, struck out opposing hitters, and gave the jerseys off our backs all to support local causes. 

We welcomed former Pirates All-Star Andy Van Slyke to the ballpark in July, and we celebrated the arrival of Bob Schwertz -- the four millionth fan in SeaWolves history. We truly appreciate our fans for braving some pretty challenging weather conditions to help the SeaWolves increase average attendance while surpassing 200,000 fans for the tenth consecutive season. SeaWolves fans also rallied behind team mascot C. Wolf as he was voted the #1 mascot in the Eastern League and #1 in ALL of Double-A Baseball!

In 2014, we'll celebrate 20 Seasons of Fun at Jerry Uht Park and the many memories made along the way.
