Bees Snap Losing Skid

The Salt Lake Bees snapped their franchise record eleven-game losing streak, as the edged the Reno Aces 5-4 on Friday night. Salt Lake trailed 2-1 in the seventh when Anderson De La Rosa led off with a single and advanced to second when Shawn O'Malley beat out his sacrifice bunt for a single. Erik Komatsu followed with a sacrifice bunt, which Reno pitcher Kevin Munson threw into right field and that allowed De La Rosa to score the tying run. O'Malley would score the go ahead run on Taylor Lindsey's infield single. After J.B. Shuck walked, Brennan Boesch delivered a two run triple to give the Bees a 5-2 lead.

Reno would score two runs in the bottom of the ninth and had the potential tying run at third and the winning run at first before Michael Brady retired Nick Ahmed on a fly out to center and earn his second save of the season. Salt Lake starter Wade LeBlanc (4-1) tossed seven strong innings for the win, as he allowed just two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and one walk. At one point, LeBlanc retired eleven straight Aces' batters and closed out his outing with nine straight outs. The Angels' Kole Calhoun began his injury rehab assignment by going 2-for-3 with a double and one run scored.
