Salt Lake Drops Series Opener Against Grizzlies

By Salt Lake Bees | September 2, 2017 12:11 AM ET

The Salt Lake Bees fell to the Fresno Grizzlies 5-2 on Friday night.

John Lamb (6-3) saw a streak of four straight quality starts snapped by the Grizzlies as he gave up four runs over six innings while walking five and striking out six in his final regular season start of the season for Salt Lake. Eduardo Paredes, Mike Morin and Greg Mahle followed Lamb out of the Bees bullpen. Paredes threw a scoreless frame while Morin allowed one run in one and one-third innings. Mahle finished the game with a scoreless two-thirds.

Offensively, the Bees collected seven hits, but could only bring two across the plate. Salt Lake stranded eight runners and finished just 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position. Sherman Johnson finished 2-for-4 with a RBI. Shane Robinson collected the other RBI on a sacrifice fly in a hitless night. The Bees celebrated Fan Appreciation Night with a crowd of 11,901 and the final postgame fireworks show of the season.

The Bees have three games remaining in their final regular season homestand of the season with Saturday and Sunday's game starting at 7:05 followed by a 12:05 day game for Labor Day. Tickets and more information is available at
