Early Lead Pushes Cubs Past Lugnuts 5-3

LANSING, MI - The South Bend Cubs opened their seven game road trip with a 5-3 win over Lansing at Cooley Law School Stadium Friday.

LANSING, MI - The South Bend Cubs opened their seven game road trip with a 5-3 win over Lansing at Cooley Law School Stadium Friday.

18-year old South Bend shortstop Aramis Ademan sparked the Cubs offense with a 2-for-4 performance. Ademan hit his second home run of the year in the first inning. Then in the second inning, Ademan collected a two-RBI triple scoring Alberto Mineo and Luis Ayala.
Starting pitcher Manuel Rondon picked up his twelfth win of the season after going five innings while scattering four hits allowing two runs. 
Yapson Gomez got the final six out for his first save with South Bend.  
South Bend is at Lansing again Saturday at 7:05 on 96.1fm WSBT.
