Opening Day, Dollar Monday, Dyngus Day ... Oh what a day!
The South Bend Silver Hawks start the season on the road and return for the home opener on Monday, April 13th against the Lansing Lugnuts. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
Opening Day is Pepsi and U93 Dollar Monday with $1 reserved seat tickets, hot dogs and soft drinks.
Dyngus Day 2009
The Silver Hawks will join the rest of the community in the observance of Dyngus Day! Dyngus Day falls on the Monday after Easter, which just happens to be Opening Day. This Polish-American tradition celebrates the end of the restrictive observance of Lent and the joy of Easter.
The Silver Hawks are offering a special Dyngus Day ticket for just $10. The Dyngus Day ticket will provide you with a game ticket and admission to an all-you-can-eat Polish Buffet and cash bar in the Upper Deck from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Only a limited number of Dyngus Day tickets are available and advanced purchases are encouraged.
