SOUTH BEND, IN - With Opening Day six weeks away, the South Bend Cubs have released their promotional schedule for the 2019 season. After paying close attention to fan feedback and end of the year surveys, the team has compiled a promotional schedule that directly comes from what fans want to see and receive.
"Every year we try and give our fans the best experience possible at Four Winds Field," South Bend Cubs Vice President and General Manager Nick Brown said. "With our diverse list of promotions coming in 2019, we think we have a theme night or giveaway to please a wide variety of our guest's interests. From Craft Beer Night, to Star Wars Night, and Dino Day, we're excited to welcome all of our fans back in 2019."
The ever-popular firework and flat screen nights once again are a major part of the schedule. The club will host 19 post-game firework shows and 11 TV giveaway nights. Six of the seven weekly promotions from last season will also return for 2019. The new addition to the weekly promotions circuit includes an opportunity to bring your furry friends with you to Four Winds Field.
Weekly Promotional Schedule
Dog Day Monday - Every Monday bring your dog to the ballpark and enjoy select $2 menu items (hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts). Plus, kids 12 and under receive a FREE Toyota Fun Zone wristband. Excludes games on May 27 and August 12.
$2 Tuesday -Game tickets only $2. Must be purchased online, in advance. Tickets regular price on game day. Excludes games on June 11, July 2, and July 30.
Giveaway Wednesday - The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special giveaway item.
Thirsty Thursday - $2 sodas and draft beer all game long.
Fantastic Friday Fireworks - A spectacular fireworks display after every game.
Flat Screen Saturday - Fans 18 & over can enter to win a new flat screen TV every inning.
Sundae FUNday - Play catch on the field before the game, player autographs after the game, and a giveaway item to the first 1,000 fans through the gates.
The popular weekly promotion $2 Tuesday returns but after fan feedback, has been updated. Fans will be able to purchase $2 field box tickets to all $2 Tuesday games but those tickets must be purchase in advance and only online. The $2 deal will not be available on gameday and also excludes games on June 11, July 2, and July 30.
Similar to last season, two current Chicago Cubs players will be featured as bobbleheads for the South Bend Cubs this season. Likenesses of 2015 South Bend Cub
Additional giveaways include fleece blankets (April 28), floppy hats (May 19), aluminum water bottles (June 12), youth All-Star Game jerseys (June 23), South Bend Cubs wall clocks (June 30), black and white baseball hats (July 10 & 14), Santa Stu gnomes (July 24), South Bend Cubs t-shirts (July 31 & August 4), jersey backpack (August 11), and 2019-2020 fan calendars (September 2).
The South Bend Cubs are also debuting a couple new theme and group nights for 2019.
Polish Heritage Night (April 25) - Continue your Dyngus Day celebration at Four Winds Field. Enjoy a special polish basket meal along with polka music throughout the game.
PBS Kids Days (June 23 & 30) - Popular PBS Kids characters Daniel Tiger and Nature Cat will visit Four Winds Field to take pictures with fans of all ages.
Dino Day (July 11) - We take a trip back in time to the cretaceous period as dinosaurs will walk the concourse at Four Winds Field and young fans can visit the dino dig to look for dinosaurs.
Popular theme nights returning to Four Winds Field this season include Harry Potter Day (April 28), Military Appreciation Days (May 26 & 27), Teacher Appreciation Night (June 6), Independence Day Celebration (July 2 & 3) Margaritaville Night (July 13), Christmas in July (July 24), Latino Heritage Night (July 31), Star Wars Night (August 10), and Craft Beer Night (August 22) and Fan Appreciation Night (August 31).
