In tonight's encore performance, Ward drilled his first two home runs of the season and drove in three, but the Indians still fell to the Canadians, 7-3, in front of 4,881 fans at Avista Stadium for Armed Forces Appreciation & Fireworks Night presented by Froyo Earth, KHQ, & 103.5 The Game.

Ward is best known for his speed - he's tied for the league lead with 16 stolen bases - but the former UW Husky showed he's got some pop in his bat as well. The 25-year-old got the Indians on the board with a solo shot in the sixth inning and added a two-run shot into the Pepsi Porch in the eighth inning for good measure. Ward now leads the Northwest League in batting (.322), slugging (.563), OPS (.985), triples (4), extra-base hits (13), and stolen bases (16).
Sergio Sanchez tossed two scoreless innings of relief to keep the Indians within striking distance.
