Indians Successfully Defend Diamond in 3-1 Win

Spokane, Wash. - Jaden Hill twirled four solid frames and Spokane scored three times in the seventh as they defeated the AquaSox, 3-1, in front of 4,149 fans at Avista Stadium for Marvel's Defenders of the Diamond Night. Spokane improved to 7-7 in the second half (2.5 GB behind Vancouver) and 40-39 overall with the win.

TOP PERFORMERS

The 23-year-old Hill turned in his best start of the season, allowing just one earned run while striking out six without a walk. The six punchouts tied a season high (June 16th vs. Eugene) and the right-hander out of Louisiana State now has 42 K's in 36.2 innings this year (10.4 K/9).

Nic Kent, Juan Guerrero, and A.J. Lewis hit back-to-back-to-back doubles in the seventh to help the Indians erase a 1-0 deficit, with shortstop Ryan Ritter providing the final margin on an RBI single.

Keegan James (2-1) tossed three scoreless innings for his second win of the season while Juan Mejia and Angel Chivilli each kept Everett off the board for an inning to close out the win.
